Flying with Emirates

Online check-in with Emirates

Soon, you will fly with Emirates! To save time at the airport, you can check-in online. You can select your seats, will it be a window or an aisle one? You can indicate your preference for the menu. Once at the airport, be sure to plan enough time to go to the desk so the attendant can check your papers and issue boarding passes. It is recommended to arrive at the airport 3 hours before your flight. Boarding generally begins 45 min before the flight and the gate closes 20 min before departure.

Hand baggage allowance with Emirates

Passengers that booked an economy class ticket can carry on the flight one piece of luggage within the following limitations: maximum weight 7kg (15lb) and maximum dimension 55 x 38 x 20cm (22 x 15 x 8 inches). It is required that the passenger are able to put themselves in the overhead locker. The crew will assist in some exceptions. An additional item for duty-free purchase can be brought also.

Passengers with a first or business class Emirates' ticket are allowed to bring two pieces of hand luggage. It can be a briefcase of the dimension 45 x 35 x 20cm (18 x 14 x 8 inches) and either a handbag of maximum 55 x 38 x 20cm (22 x 15 x 8 inches) or a garment bag: 20 cm(8 inches) thick when folded. Each item can weigh up to 7kg (15lb). An additional item for duty-free purchases can be accepted.

Passengers travelling with children are allowed to bring an additional handbag ( up to 5 kg/11lb) to cover the child needs during the flight and a stroller, as long as it is fully foldable. However, if there is not enough space in the cabin it will have to be checked.

Please note that passengers flying to and from India are allowed to carry only one hand-luggage that respect the limit for the total dimension of 115cm or 45.3 inches (length + width + height).

Be sure to bring in your hand-luggage only authorised items in order to avoid any kind of trouble at the airports.

Checked baggage allowance with Emirates

With Emirates, you can bring as many checked baggages as you want as long as it's within the total weight allowed by the tickets. For passengers with economy class tickets, the total weight can vary from 20kg to 35kg depending on your options. Business-class travellers can bring luggages up to 40kg and first-class passengers up to 50kg. The maximum weight for each item is 32kg.

Passengers flying within America or between the United States and Europe have specific baggage allowances. For economy-class travel, they can bring one or two pieces of luggage of 23kg depending on the options chosen on your flight with Emirates. Travellers from business and first class are allowed two bring two pieces of luggage of 32kg each. Make sure to check your luggage allowance before reaching the airport.
