About Havana
Havana is the capital and biggest city of Cuba. It was founded by Spanish explorers in the 1500s and was a stopping point for treasure ships returning from the New World. Fast forward a few hundred years and Cuba became a Communist country, meaning it was closed to tourists for a long time. That changed in the 1990s when it was reopened to the outside world and has since become a thriving tourist destination. There is lots to see and enjoy in Havana and the city is a truly vibrant place, with a diverse and unique culture combined with a lively atmosphere waiting to be experienced.

After their flight to Havana lands, visitors should look out for classic cars and colorful architecture. Havana is a dream for photographers, amateur or otherwise. Airports in Havana
As Cuba is an island, visitors tend to arrive by air. Havana is served by Jose Marti International Airport, which is named after a Cuban poet and located a short distance outside of the city. The airport was originally known as Rancho Boyeros Airport. It has four passenger terminals.

Transportation
There are no public transportation options at the airport's international terminal. However, passengers can take a taxi to a nearby bus station. Alternatively, arrivals may choose to take a taxi directly to the city.
