Using taxis may be difficult unless you speak the local language, and you may get ripped off if flag down a random taxi. Instead, you should call for a taxi from one of the established companies to transfer you to the airport.

Dubrovnik Airport is located around 15km from the city center. If your destination is towards Old Town, you should take the bus rather than a taxi. The bus departures are synced with flight arrivals but you may have to wait for up to 15 minutes at times to get an available one.

The bus stops at the eastern Pile Gate and there you can link with other buses, and it also goes to the main bus station in Dubrovnik. There are also local buses 11 and 27 that travel between the airport and the city center. Taxis are lined up outside the terminal and you can be approached by a friendly, enthusiastic driver.
