Flights from San Francisco

San Francisco is a beautiful city known for its hilly topography, cable cars and the Golden Gate Bridge. The San Francisco International Airport is the second busiest in California and ranks seventh in America in terms of passenger traffic. On average, there are more than a thousand departures and arrivals daily serving 40 international destinations and 77 US cities including San Francisco to Los Angeles.

The airport has four terminals and seven concourses. It is possible to walk from one building to another, but the AirTrain is a convenient 24-hour service that will take you between terminals. There is a train every four minutes. Adequate parking facilities are available at SFO airport.

Travelling to San Francisco airport

The San Francisco International Airport can be reached in several ways, the most inexpensive of which is public transportation. It is also the fastest means of reaching the airport if you are in a hurry to catch a flight from San Francisco to LA. If staying Downtown, go to the Civic Center/UN Plaza Station and catch the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) train that will take you to SFO. The journey lasts approximately 33 minutes. If you have a rental car, take US-101 S and drive towards San Mateo county, exiting North Access Road then head to N Link Road. The drive will take 18-23 minutes depending on the flow of traffic.

Reaching Los Angeles

Los Angeles is an urban oasis of glamor, glitter and nature. Known for its beaches, Hollywood, modern architecture and theme parks, it is a city that is popular among the locals and international visitors. From the iconic Hollywood Sign to the famed Griffith Observatory, Los Angeles does not disappoint. Getting to the city center

Flights from SFO to LAX will land at Los Angeles International Airport or LA/Ontario International Airport. If arriving at LA International Airport, use LAX FlyAway buses that not only serve between terminals, but also go to the center. The ride will last an hour. By car or taxi, via I-105 E, I-110 N or I-10 E, the journey can take from 40-50 minutes. Alternatively, use the free shuttle bus service (marked G or C shuttle) to the Metro Bus Center where city and inter-city buses are available. From LA/Ontario Airport, it will take approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes by public transportation. The drive will be shorter via I-10W or CA-60W from 1-2 hours.
