Medellin is the capital city of Antioquia province in Colombia, an urban center that is an important manufacturing region. It is home to over three million people. The main airport is Jose Maria Cordova Airport, located roughly 18 miles from Medellin in the city of Rionegro. It is also known as Rionegro Airport and is the second biggest airport in the country in terms of passenger and cargo volume. Buses and taxis go to the city center of Cartagena. Taxis operate 24 hours and city buses from 6:50 until 23:45. You can also use airport shuttle vans or pre-arranged private vans for families and groups. It is also possible to rent a limousine from the airport to the city center, with some having sufficient room to accommodate large groups.
