Los Angeles – or LA as it is fondly called – is home to nearly four million people, an oasis of friendly locals, diverse cultures and the glitter of Hollywood. It is served by two airports: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and LA/Ontario International Airport. LAX is the bigger of the two serving nearly 75 million passengers. It has four runways, nine terminals and 145 aircraft parking lots. Facilities include lounges, shops, restaurants and parking spaces. LA/Ontario has two runways, two terminals, nine aircraft parking areas and 26 passenger loading bridges. It serves more than four million passengers in a year and operates daily flights to 61 destinations.

Travelling to Los Angeles airport

LAX is served by several means of ground transportation. To get to the airport to board flights from Los Angeles to New York, you can opt for taxis, shared rides and limousines. There are also door-to-door shuttles and vans that can drop you off at the airport. If you intend to use public transport, go to Union Station and take the airport's FlyAway bus service. LA/Ontario is accessible by several modes of transportation. If driving from the LA area, take IS 10 (San Bernardino freeway) east and exit at Archibald Avenue. You can also take the bus, use shared rides and taxicabs.

Reaching New York

Getting to the city center

If you are flying in to New York, your plane might land at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), La Guardia or Newark Liberty International Airport. Of the three, La Guardia is the nearest to downtown New York. JFK is served by subway, buses and limousines. The familiar yellow cab is present at the airport's taxi stand, and shuttles and vans are also available. Newark is at a strategic location on the New Jersey Turnpike or IS 95 so it is easy to reach New York by car and the most convenient form of transportation is to take the train (Amtrak). La Guardia is connected by MTA buses, subway and taxis.
