Flight deals from Chicago (CHI) to Fort Lauderdale (FLL)

Chicago, also referred to as Chicagoland, is a large metropolitan city and with a population of nearly 10 million is one of the biggest in the US. It is an important center of finance, telecommunication, technology and commerce. The conurbation is also famous for its bold architecture, skyscrapers, art museums and food culture. Flights from Chicago to Fort Lauderdale leave from one of two major airports serving the city. O'Hare International Airport ranks as the 4th busiest airport in the world and 3rd in the US. It is the main airport serving the Chicago area while Midway International Airport is the secondary airport in the city.

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) offers easy and inexpensive rail rides to O'Hare or Midway Airport. Take the Blue Line to get to O'Hare and the Orange Line to reach Midway Airport. From downtown, you can also take a taxi to catch your flight at either airport. PACE bus routes 250 and 350 serve the airport directly. To get to Midway from downtown, there are several PACE/CTA bus routes going to the airport (379, 382, 383, 384, 385, 386 and 390). Both airports are served by taxis, shuttles, limo services and shared rides. Regional buses serving areas outside of Chicagoland go to these airports as well.

Fort Lauderdale offers one of those city breaks that is so stress-free, you will probably put it on top of your list the next time you need a vacation. Unlike other big urban centers, the city is easily navigable and has open spaces that won't box you in. For entertainment and arts, the Riverwalk located in the middle of the city is a top choice. It features a pedestrian walkway and is flanked by museums, theaters, restaurants, bars and an opera house, while Las Olas Boulevard is favored for its variety of dining places. Head south of the city to find yourself on Hollywood and Dania for great entertainment options, beaches, shops and eateries.

The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is the primary airport serving the Fort Lauderdale area. It is acknowledged as one of the 'fastest growing airports' in the country. To get to the downtown area, you can opt for public transport using a Broward County Transit (BCT) bus (Route 1). The bus stop is at the Rental Car Center (Stop 7) and to get there you can use the Courtesy Shuttles provided by the airport. Taxis, limousines and shared rides are other travel options to get to the city center. Hotels usually provide free rides from the airport. Pick-up locations are in designated areas at the curbside (lower level).
