Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport is the main airport serving Shanghai. It is located near the town of Hongqiao in Changning District, which is about 13km from the city center. The airport is one of the busiest in the world. Major airlines including Shanghai Air, China United Air and Hong Kong Air operate direct and connecting flights to several destinations.

Presently, the airport has about 117 regional and international connections and 109 domestic connections. There are several direct regular flights from Shanghai to Tokyo and the flight time is approximately 150 minutes. The airport consists of two terminals, which features top-notch facilities and amenities.

Travelling to Shanghai airport

The city has excellent transport links; therefore, traveling to and from the airport is hassle-free. There are several transport options that you can take advantage of. You can opt for a bus ride to the airport from the city center. Taxis are available in the city, you can pre-arrange their services prior to your departure date.
