Walk from the Civic Center/UN Plaza Station if you are staying downtown. From this point, take the Pittsburg/Bay Point - SFIA/Millibrae route operated by the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) to San Francisco airport. It will take you 30-35 minutes. If you have lots of luggage and are in a hurry to catch cheap flights to Portland, the shortest and most convenient method is to drive or take a taxi. Depending on the traffic situation, you will reach the airport in 18-23 minutes.

Portland is the biggest city in the state of Oregon, an urban center that delightfully mixes quirky and modern things. Driving to the city center will take approximately 20-40 minutes. The Max light rail train serves the city center and will take around 38 minutes. This is probably the easiest and most inexpensive way to get to the city. Another option is to hop on the Downtown Airport Express by Blue Star which goes to the city and several hotels in the Lloyd District. You can also take the same bus back to the airport when it is time to leave.
