Flights from Phoenix

Phoenix is the biggest city in the state of Arizona boasting a lively night scene, interesting restaurants, shopping and fantastic outdoors. Its main airport is the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the 11th busiest in America. In 2015, more than 44 million passengers passed through the airport. Offering 80 domestic and 20 international destinations, Phoenix airport hosts a total of 16 airlines.

Flights from Phoenix to Chicago leave from one of three terminals (2, 3 and 4) depending on the airline company you are flying with and the airport destination. American Airlines flights leave from Terminal 4, Frontier Airlines from Terminal 3 and United Airlines from Terminal 2.

Travelling to Phoenix airport

Sky Harbor International Airport is accessible by bus, taxi, shuttle and shared ride. Take the Valley Metro bus marked Route 13 that will bring you to Terminal 2 for your flight from Phoenix to Chicago. Routes 1, 44 and 32 will take you to the 44th Street PHX Sky Train. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes. The train, which is free of charge, runs regularly between the three terminals. By car, drive via E. Jefferson or I-10 E to the airport from Downtown Phoenix for 10-15 minutes depending on the traffic. Shared rides and courtesy shuttles might make several stops before proceeding to the airport.

Reaching Chicago

Chicago is a city that offers a wide range of attractions for its visitors, from world-class museums to beautiful parks. The metropolis is a by-product of a multi-cultural society as evidenced by its diverse culinary treats and budding craft beer industry. Explore the different neighborhoods, relish the extensive art collections at the Art Institute of Chicago, enjoy stunning views at 360 Chicago or take the entire family to Navy Pier for a day of fun. Getting to the city center

Flights to Chicago may arrive at one of two airports: O'Hare or Midway International Airport. Both hubs are well-connected to the highway and public transportation. Rides on the Blue Line to Downtown Chicago will take 40-45 minutes. If you are driving to the city center, via I-90 W, I-290 W or I-294N, the duration of the journey will be from 30- 40 minutes.

From Midway International Airport to Downtown, take the CTA Orange Line train. The ride will last on average 20-25 minutes. If you intend to drive a rental car, you can go via I-55 N or I-55 N and S Damen Avenue. Travel time varies from 24-30 minutes.
