Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and LaGuardia Airport (LGA) are the three main airports servicing New York. Most flights from NYC connect through these airports to many destinations including San Francisco.

Flights from NYC to San Francisco depart from John F. Kennedy International Airport or Newark Liberty International Airport. You are advised to reach the airport earlier for departing flights. JFK is located approximately 12 miles southeast of Lower Manhattan, while EWR is located about 15 miles southwest of Midtown Manhattan.

New York City has a good transportation network and the airports are serviced by effective ground transportation facilities that connect passengers to NYC subways, bus routes and stations, NYC taxis and airport parking. John F. Kennedy Airport consists of six terminals while Newark Liberty Airport has three terminals: A, B and C.

From the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station, which is located in the International terminal, passengers can take an AirTrain to their locations in the city. Another option is to rent a car, take a shuttle or hire a taxi, which are normally outside the airport for transportation to the city.
