Flights from New York

New York is a metropolis that is a vital center for finance, business, arts, culture and entertainment. The John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport are the main airports serving NYC. The three airports boast modern facilities, terminals and services for the comfort of passengers. JFK is equipped with four runways, six terminals and over 125 aircraft gates. It also hosts around 70 airlines offering domestic and international flights. LaGuardia has two runways and four terminals while Newark features three runways and three terminals. Several hotels are also conveniently located around these airports for the benefit of passengers, as well as ample parking spaces.

Travelling to New York airport

JFK is well-linked by several modes of transportation from downtown Manhattan. You can take a taxi or book a ride using a location-based app such as Uber. AirTrain JFK is linked to the subway and bus in Manhattan. To reach LaGuardia, several buses go to the airport from the city center and the borough of Queens. Newark is accessible using Amtrak (train) and NJ Transit which is the mass transportation system of New Jersey. AirTrain Newark will connect you to and from NJ Transit and Amtrak as well as PATH or the Port Authority Trans-Hudson. The latter serves mid and lower Manhattan.

Reaching Brussels

Belgium's capital, Brussels, is a blend of modern and old things. Known primarily as the seat of the European Commission and NATO's headquarters, it offers a multi-ethnic flavor from its restaurants to diverse neighborhoods. Visit the Grand Place, admire the Atomium or look for the Manneken Pis (the pissing boy). Try the many beers, chocolates and local dishes in pubs or cafes. Tour art museums, royal palaces and charming parks and gardens. Go shopping at chic galleries or find treasure at the antiques market at the Place du Grand Sablon. Brussels offers nearly everything you can wish for, except perhaps more time to stay at this quaint city.

Getting to the city center

Flights from New York to Brussels will land at Brussels Airport or Zaventem. Brussels South (airport) is in Charleroi serving mostly budget airlines. You can use taxis or shuttles from this airport. From Zaventem, taxis are the most convenient transport; they are metered and lots of drivers speak English. The train station at the airport is located at the basement (push -1 in the elevator or use the escalator). Brussels Central Station can be reached in 17 minutes. Another option is to take the bus (De Lijn). Lines 272 and 471 go to Brussels North while 359 and 659 pass at the Roodebeek underground station. Bus 12, operated by the MIVB/STIB serves the city center.
