Going to and from the airports

LA, the second largest city in America welcomes countlesstourists every year. There are five airports that service different areas of Los Angeles. LAX International Airport is one of the busiest in the city and the sixth busiest in the world. The Bob Hope airport serves passengers traveling to and from the San Gabriel Valleys, while the LA Ontario International airport serves passengers from the Inland Empire in Southern California.

Long Beach Airport serves passengers traveling to and from Long Beach, and the John Wayne Airport looks after passengers using Southwest Airlines, Delta Airlines and a few others. You have several airports to choose from when you're flying from LAX to Chicago.

Travelling to Los Angeles airport

You could either take a bus, train a minivan or a taxi to travel to LAX. If you're driving to the airport from Los Angeles, take Interstate 405 South and head towards Interstate 105 West. Look for signs that direct you to the airport. If you're taking a flight from Los Angeles to Chicago from the LA Ontario airport, you could choose from a range of public bus and rail providers in Southern California. There's also a free shuttle that transports passengers from the car park and the car rental facility to the terminals. If you're using the John Wayne airport, hop onto an OCTA bus. Routes 76 or 212 take you to the airport.

Reaching Chicago

There are plenty of attractions to keep you busy in Chicago; Millennium Park, the Museum of Science and Industry, and the 360° Observation Deck are places you must visit on your trip to Chicago. Getting to the city center

You'll find cheap flights from Los Angeles to Chicago during off-peak seasons. Most airlines use O'Hare International Airport or Midway International Airport. The former is located 17 miles northwest of the CBD and the latter eight miles from the CBD on the Southwest side of Chicago. If you want to travel downtown or head to Forest Park, take a train on the Blue Line. Metra gives you the option of using an express train to travel from O'Hare to Union Station. Those arriving at Midway International Airport have to take the rapid transit L train to travel downtown. The station is located at the airport itself, making it very easy for passengers to get around.
