Detroit is the most densely inhabited city in the state of Michigan primarily known for its motor and music industries. Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) is the public bus service that goes to the DTW Airport. To get to the North Terminal from downtown, take Routes 125 and 280. Route 125 goes to McNamara Terminal from town. An alternative is to use the Ann Arbor Transportation Authority - often referred to as 'The Ride' – which connects the airport with several points in the Ann Arbor area including Washtenaw County.

You can also use PACE Suburban Buses (Routes 379, 382, 383, 384, 385, 386 and 390). From O'Hare, take the Blue Line of the CTA to reach the city center. Metra commuter trains connect passengers taking the rail from downtown's Union Station. Take the Airport Transit System (ATS) to get to the O'Hare Transfer Station. PACE Bus Routes 250 and 330 also service Chicagoland.
