Got that super annoying responsibility of having to plan a trip for the whole family?

Just remember that it’s hard to please everyone. All the effort put into looking for that perfect wildlife park or camping spot is a mere tantrum away from being wasted…

Here are the best European destinations for families

Disneyland Paris

The land of magical attractions and spectacular entertainment in Paris is the perfect place for families – the two theme parks Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park will dazzle the kids while the seven resort hotels, golf course, and outlet centre take care of the parents.

The Costa del Sol

Spain’s southern shores offer mild winter temperatures and scorching summers. This family oriented region caters less to the lads on tour mentality and more to those looking for a real break with a touch of class. Here the entire coast is peppered with wildlife parks, aquariums, water parks, go kart tracks, ziplining and more.

London

In the city with everything but the weather it’s no surprise there’s an unlimited amount of family friendly activities. Take a stroll through world class toy shop Hamley’s or take a Harry Potter London Tour.

Older kids cant get enough of the London Dungeon and the educational options for all ages from the Science Museum to the Natural History Museum are practically endless.

Sardinia

It’s strange that this Italian island with some of the Med’s finest beaches remains relatively low key compared to its Spanish cousins – but this is exactly why it appeals. You’ll go for the beaches but the kids will stay for the camping, cave exploring, and dolphin spotting.

Throw in the best seafood in Italy you’ll ever have and we’re into no-brainer territory.

Lapland

The trip of your child’s dreams can be had if you summon up the courage to visit Finland’s northernmost region in December.

Not only is the self-proclaimed (just go along with it) home of Santa Claus the place to meet Father Christmas himself, but the tobogganing, dogsledding, and ice fishing make this one of the most unique holidays in the world.

Sunny Beach, Bulgaria

According to travellers Bulgaria’s Black Sea resort town is what ‘Benidorm used to be 20 years ago’. The all-inclusive resorts here won’t provide the luxury of other European destinations but the plethora of activites and services remain the same. The one difference? You’ll pay about half the price.

Edinburgh

Here it’s all about learning and the fairy-tale like Edinburgh Castle and its iconic Mons Meg Cannon are a great way in to over 1000 years of history. The National Museum of Scotland and its life-sized T-Rex and mock archaeological dig site are right on point, but the Museum of Childhood? That’s almost too easy.

Brittany

You can go rural without needing 28 degrees and the most crystal clear water in the world, am I right? France’s hilly peninsula region is about isolated cottages, gypsy caravans, or log cabins. For a low stress holiday roaming  or cycling some absolutely lush countryside this is it.
