Frankfurt is a modern yet traditional metropolis. It has many things that locals can appreciate, such as the historic old town, museums, shops, trade fairs, international dining scene and the biggest airport in Germany. Frankfurt International Airport is the main airport serving the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main area and is an important hub connecting Europe and Germany to the rest of the world. The airport has four runways with a total of 76km in taxiways. Two large terminals process departing and arriving passengers at the airport. It has many amenities and services including lounges, duty-free shops and public parking with 15,100 spaces.

Travelling to Frankfurt airport

There are several ways to reach Frankfurt International Airport from downtown Frankfurt. One is to drive on the A5 and A8, a journey that will take you around 15 minutes. You can also use the S-Bahn which is an efficient transportation system in the city. Hop on S8 commuter trains that will stop at the airport; total travel time is 12 minutes. Alternatively, you can take the bus or use hotel shuttles. If you are on flights from Frankfurt to Paris and have many bags, taking a taxi from downtown to the airport is the most convenient way to get there.

Reaching Paris

No trip to Europe is complete without visiting Paris, France's capital. Its reputation as perhaps the most beautiful and romantic city in the world is well-founded. Stroll along the Champs-Elysees, visit the Louvre Museum or climb the Eiffel Tower at night for a stunning view of the city. Paris is also known as a fashion capital with high-end brands and names calling the city their home. Getting to the city center

Roissy Charles de Gaulle and Orly are the two main airports serving the city of Paris. From Roissy (CDG), you can take buses (Routes 350 or 351) to town. The journey will last 75 minutes. By RER (train), it will take you 35 minutes to reach downtown. Another option is to use a Roissybus with travel time to the center estimated at around 50-60 minutes. Other alternatives include taxis and cars (A1 or A3) which will take anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending on traffic conditions. Orly Airport to central Paris is served by RER Line B (train), Orlyval (metro), Orlybus (bus), taxis, shuttles and car rentals.
